Ms Wurm has a doctorate degree in modern history and in social and economic history and a Masters degree in English and history. She successfully completed the LEXEL Teacher Training Certificate for Business English Trainers and the LCCI-ARELS CertTEB, the London Chamber of Commerce and Industry & ARELS Certificate in Teaching Business English in 2003 and in 2012 The Pyramid Group Teacher Training “Teaching Legal English”.

Since 1992 Ms Wurm has been an Executive English trainer offering in-company training, one-to-one, business English workshops and seminars.

She has been a university lecturer since 1998 teaching social and economic history in English, English for special purposes and business English at the Vienna University of Economics and Business WU, at the University of Applied Sciences Campus Wien, at the University of Applied Sciences Bfi Vienna and at the University of Applied Sciences FHW Vienna.

Ms Wurm has been involved extensively in the Erasmus Socrates Lecturer Mobility Programme teaching at the University of Stockholm, the LUMSA University Rome, the University of Ljubljana in, the University of Oulu/Finland and at the Oslo University College. She was furthermore a guest lecturer at the international legal NICLAS Summer Course Program in Vienna and Bratislava and she taught legal English at the international GRiM Winter School in Stockholm.

In 2015 she was awarded the honorary professorship of the University of Applied Sciences Bfi Vienna.

Her research focus is on economic and social developments in Central & Eastern Europe, the Danube region and the European Union. Currently she is working on a Central European economic and social history blog in English.
